Hurley Heritage Society Annual Appeal

Friends of Hurley Heritage:

The Hurley Heritage Society (HHS), which is an all-volunteer organization, is grateful for your ongoing support, especially during these unprecedented times.  Although the museum was closed in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, this year we were able to open the museum on Saturdays, July through October.  In addition, we launched our new website and expanded our online educational and community engagement activities, and celebrated the second year of our Winslow Homer exhibit.  Thank you for supporting our many community events, including lectures; flower and mum sales; herbal wreath workshop; scarecrow contest; Stories, S’mores, and More; adult Halloween events; annual autumn auction; and our holiday sale.

Looking ahead to 2022 and beyond, HHS is committed to strategic planning that will assure our continued viability, grow the organization and its relevance to the Hurley and West Hurley communities, and expand our engagements with diverse audiences and communities. Specifically, the HHS plans to launch a comprehensive building and facilities needs assessment for the museum. Currently, our most pressing need is to upgrade the museum’s antiquated electrical system, which is a priority for 2022.

Our projects and goals need your support to be successful. Please help us fulfill our mission.  Through this Annual Appeal, we hope to replenish the cost ($6,000) of the electrical system upgrade.

Please make your gift now to help us move forward. Gifts may be made online or by sending a check payable to Hurley Heritage Society, PO Box 1661, Hurley, NY 12443.  Thank you!

Sincerely,
Dale Bohan, President
Hurley Heritage Society
