Hurley Heritage Society hosts Peter Roberts who discusses the robust history of a local 19th century bluestone industry with an emphasis on the greater Hurley area. His lecture includes archival photographs and recent images of bluestone buildings and other structures that are easily viewed today. A Q&A follows his presentation.
Peter Roberts, a retired physician, grew up in one of Kingston's old stone houses. He is a current Board Director and a former President of the Friends of Historic Kingston. He enjoys giving tours, lectures, and organizing exhibits about Kingston.
The Hurley Heritage Society maintains and operates the Hurley Museum free to public, protects and preserves materials, documents and artifacts pertaining to the Hurley area, and raises awareness of the special heritage of the Town of Hurley through events including public lectures, seasonal walking tours of Old Hurley and Hurley Heritage Day.
