Hurley Heritage Society Tours

The Hurley Heritage Society presents three types of Stone House Tours. The first being a self-guided tour " The Walk or Drive Around Tour" and the second being a "Special pre-Arranged Guided Tour" for large groups, bus tours etc. The third is a "Guided Individual Walking Tour".

The Walk or Drive Around Tour

The tour includes Stone Houses built in the late 1600's thru 1818. There are 10 privately owned Stone Houses on the 1/4 mile long Main Street. Another 15 are within a 1 to 3 minute drive.

The Tour encompasses 27 Stops comprising of 26 houses and the burial grounds.  The first 12 stops, all contained on Main Street, can comfortably be completed by walking while the remaining 15 stops are best covered by auto.

Special Pre-Arranged Guided Tour

Escorted tours may be arranged of selected individual homes for visiting groups such as Elderhostel, scout troops, school groups, the National Trust for Preservation, and others. Please contact Iris Oseas (845) 331-8852 or Shirley Rifenberg (845) 338-8366 to make arrangements.

Guided individual walking tour

The tour originates at our Museum.
The tour includes information on History, Architecture, Families and the Town of Hurley Burial Grounds at the discretion of the tour guide.


The tour dates for 2007 are May 27, June 28, July 28, August 26, September 30 and October TBA


The charge is $3 per person, children under 12 are free. The tour gathers between 1:30pm and 2 pm and starts promptly at 2 pm.
