Our Activities

Education:

PROLOGUE: A publication mailed to each Society member five times a year. Besides announcing speakers for our general meetings, there are tidbits of historical interest submitted by members or other interested parties along with current and upcoming Society events.


GENERAL MEETINGS: Our general meetings (open to the public),  held on the fourth Thursday1 of February, April, June, September, and November, provide speakers, videos, and music regarding the history of our region. The meetings are held at Schadewald Hall at the Reformed Church of Hurley on Main Street.

  • Funding of Cemetery Stone Restoration.

Fund Raisers:

In order to help provide funding for our goals, we generally have two major fund raisers. The first, "Annual Spring Dinner", is generally held in the late spring. The second, "The Corn Festival", has traditionally been held on the 3rd Saturday in August1.
